About our Studio
The Studio at The Original Music School serves 2 important purposes:
It is a lab for students to get real-world instruction in the operation of recording studio, audio production, and sound reinforcement equipment, giving the student a thorough grounding in the theory, techniques and practices of professional multi-track music recording. (In parent-speak, it’s where your kids record their own songs and make you extremely proud of—and amazed at—their skills.)
It is a state-of-the-art, “ProTools 24 Mix Plus” recording facility for the serious musician, producer, or audio/video professional. Our work has been heard on the WB's Dawson's Creek, MTV's The Real World, MTV/Asia and radio stations across the country. Our chief honcho, Anthony Vitale, is a card-carrying member of ASCAP has had music published in the United States and as far off as India and Pakistan. He’s recorded and written with an eclectic array of musicians from India, France, England and all over the United States.
The main live cutting room is 20’ x 30’ and handles all sizes and styles of instrumental and vocal groups from jazz trios to heavy metal bands to small orchestras with acoustic excellence. There are more than enough isolation booths in a variety of sizes for any need.
The main console is a Mackie 32x8.
Whatever mics you want, we got ‘em (Neumann, AKG, Rode, Sure, Oktava, Studio Projects, to name a few).
Amps include, Vox, Hartke, and a top-shelf boutique amp, Sommatone (Earl Slick, guitarist for David Bowie and John Lennon, has two of these babies and says they’re the best amps ever built.)
Haven’t heard enough? Well, we have vintage Telefunken Beatles-era preamps for that great warm-yet-open sound; a long list of plug-ins and outboard gear; as well as Reason 3.0 sequencing software; keyboards from Kurzweil, Roland, and Alesis; and more.
If we still haven’t satisfied your highest-maintenance diva desires, we can get anything you want on a moment’s notice. Just name it.
The studio is available for hire by the hour or day. Producers and engineers are also available, including Grammy-winning producer John Rollo (The Kinks, Joe Cocker, Southside Johnny) and Emmy-winning engineer Tom Root (ABC, NBC, FOX, Nickelodeon).
Please call for rates and/or to discuss your project.
